Weekend-free culture of pluripotent stem cells
ReproFF2 is a new feeder-free culture medium for human ES/iPS cells. Unlike conventional stem cell media that requires changing on a daily basis, ReproFF2 needs culture maintenance only three days a week. Change the medium on Monday and Wednesday, passage the cells on Friday. Consequently, the cost and amount of medium used are halved, and feeder cells need not be prepared. Also, the culture can remain unattended during the weekend.
ReproFF2 offers:
- Culture maintenance required only three days/week.
- Reduce the labor cost for the weekend.
- Maintains undifferentiated state and differentiation capability.
- Reduced need for mechanical manipulation for passaging.
ReproFF2 has been developed to reduce the steps in the workflow. Just warm up, add bFGF*, and the medium is ready to use.

Store basal medium at -20 °C. Medium is stable for 3 years when stored as directed.
Quality Control
- Each lot is culture-tested with human iPS cells as described in Takahashi K, et al., Cell 2007;131:861–72.
- Lot-to-lot control testing of other critical criteria, including osmolality, pH, sterility, and Mycoplasma is performed.
